Silvia K Ceramics

Reflecting her commitment to authenticity, every aspect of production takes place in-house. Silvia’s drawings inform the models from which she makes her plaster moulds; she also mixes casting slip, makes glazes, decorating slip, cuts leather straps - nothing is outsourced.

Located in the heart of Brighton on the south coast of the UK, Silvia Kamodyová established her eponymous ceramic studio shortly after graduation in 2012. Reflecting her commitment to authenticity, every aspect of designing and making takes place in-house.

At Silvia K Ceramics, every piece begins in a sketchbook. Silvia's drawings serve as the foundation for the models and plaster moulds. With a hands-on approach, she mixes the casting slip and crafts her own glazes and decorating slips, ensuring that every step of the process reflects her dedication to the craft. Silvia's expertise is honed through her four years at the University of Brighton, culminating in her MDes in Ceramics and Visual Research in 2012. This dedication to every aspect of production results in ceramics that are not just beautiful, but a true labour of love.
